I purchased this for my 8 year old 4th grade daughter. I assumed that our public school system taught cursive writing in third grade, but third grade came and went without any cursive instruction. I had taught her the letters at home and needed a good practice workbook. My daughter is excited about this book and has already started. The sentences are just silly enough (but clean) that I hear a little giggle once in a while.This book is perfect for those that have had some instruction on cursive writing. There are two initial pages of just the capital and lowercase letters for kids to practice and remember. I really appreciate how the book is not just page after page of mindless copying of sentences. There are three parts that build on each other. There are simpler sentences to trace and then more complex sentences or cursive transitions to trace. The third section shows the cursive sentence and two lines below for kids to write on their own. The final section shows sentences in print (not cursive) and two lines below for kids to write the sentences in cursive. The lines include the dotted line in the middle so that the techniques can be practiced and mastered.

My grandson, age 10, is having a difficult time with cursive writing. And an even harder time practicing, Try telling an active boy that it's time to practice his cursive and watch his face fall. I found these workbooks, with jokes & riddles, and they made it a lot easier to get him to do it; plus I bribe for better grades. He likes these practice books about as much as any 10-yr-old could like a cursive practice book. They are a huge help.

Have a 4th and 5th grader working on these, and every time they work on them, they end up laughing so hard at the goofy sentences. Only wish that they would have covered HOW to form the cursive letters, instead of just jumping into the words. We were able to go over that, but still would have been nice to have the steps numbered, so they know how to write it.

Bought this for my 10 and 12-year-olds to use after they had completed a beginning cursive book. Absolutely LOVE this book. Lots of practice sentences for the boys to first trace and then write on their own. Very well structured and I highly recommend.

My ten year old really likes this book. Very silly sentences. he always says, That makes NO SENSE! and laughs. Then he copies it.

Great practice for cursive writing. Both my 9 and 11 year old used it to learn and enhance their cursive writing. It begins with tracing the words, then tracing once and writing the same sentences, and finally looking at the sentence in print and writing it in cursive. The sentences are funny and cute - not too long to get boring.

A great teaching tool for teaching an upper elementary child how to write in cursive. The fact that the sentences are "wacky" just help to make the learning easy. I'm very satisfied with the product and its results.

This is such a quirky book that I have been stumped by rating it. Was it a 4-star book because of the odd dialogues or a 5-star book because of its solid and current information about gut flora, prebiotics, and inflammation? But, the yummy cold potato recipe... Okay, honestly, that one tipped the rating. These Irish genes don't allow for me to abandon potatoes which, as it turns out, are a source of an important prebiotic, resistant starch. Other topics include glycation of protein from cooking at high temperatures* and natural anti-inflammatory foods.Beyond the cold potato recipe, so important because of its resistant starch, this is a book filled with wise information about healthy eating and trying to minimize inflammation through diet. I have celiac disease, an autoimmune disease in which exposure to gluten significantly damages the small intestine, and can cause chronic inflammation, malabsorption, and dysbiosis that impacts your entire digestive tract. Many celiacs suffer from inflammatory bowel disease, as well. Lovely photos and metallic gold accents. The photos do not do it justice!

I got this book on my Kindle and liked it so much that I bought the hard copy. It is very well researched, informative, and written in a conversational style. The conversational style helps a lot when reading some of the drier, albeit useful information. There are some recipes, but it is mostly about how and what we should eat, and why.

This book opened my mind to the gut- everything connection! I drink the welcome shot everyday now, and follow much of the dietary changes daily. Everything that was explained in this book made so much sense to me about what I've been going thru putting my gut and body thru and I began to feel and function better after just a day or two! These folks are bloggers, so I guess the chatty tone of the book should have been expected. I like the information, but the chatty tone didn't do anything for me. As another reviewer said and like many books these days, it's written at about the 8th grade level. I would have been really annoyed if I paid full price, but there was a major Kindle deal one day and it was pretty cheap.
