If you love to cook and also dream of a TARDIS suddenly showing up in your bedroom one night: this is for you! I'm not sure how well these recipes will turn out as far as taste but that is secondary to being able to make Doctor Who themed food! It's a super cute, thick well made book that is full of monster commentary and imaginative versions of Whovian food related items. I love this cookbook! So fun and it's the only cookbook in my library (I collect cookbooks) that I don't care a bit about how tasty the recipes turn out! Lots of fun for you or foodie Who fans. Definitely recommend it and would buy it again in an instant!

The illustrations in this cook book are fantastic as well as the recipes. This was a gift to a friend that is a Dr. Who fan, just went crazy over the book.It is well written and much better than expected out of a TV Series type cook book....lots of laughs and imagination went into making this cook book.If you like Dr. Who you will enjoy this cook book.

I don't know why so many people are complaining. Are there recipes from the show? A few. Are some of the recipes challenging? Absolutely. Are some so simple that you could do them on your own? Sure. But the thing is, the entire cookbook is filled with wonderful recipes referencing Doctor Who and the various characters and species from the show, and the recipes themselves sound absolutely delicious. My personal favorites (aka the first dishes I'll be making) are the fish fingers and custard and Dalek-table Army. All in all, 5/5, and I'll likely be purchasing a copy for my Whovian friends.

I gotta say, i wasn't expecting the book being so good. I loved it, the book is amazing, i do love the recipes, i can modify few ingredients if i like but i love it. The quality of the book's pages is pretty good. Easy to read and amazing pictures.

Incredible! This cookbook is more of a coffee table book because of its stunning quality photos! Every recipe is adorable and any Dr. Who fan will recognize all the references! The difficultly of the recipes is a bit much on some of them but I don't even care, the book is just too darn cute for me to give it less than 5 stars.

Excellent book! The recipes are beautifully pictured throughout the entire book! I'm not sure about every recipes taste, having not made any yet, but the wonderful thing about recipes is that they're easily tweaked to suit your personal tastebuds! My 10 yr old daughter & I will have so much fun making these together & munching on them while we geek out watching the show!I ordered this used from Fort Worth ebooks & the book arrived in good time (for not being a prime item) & had no markings or damage other than normal shelf wear. I would order from this seller again.

I purchased this as a present for my friend who is a HUGE Doctor Who fan. She was so excited when she pulled it out of the bag!The pictures are fun, vibrant, and a lot of the recipes look like they would be a lot of fun to make.Definitely recommend.

This story starts out well..I love the juxtaposition between old and new, and learning about the train ride with the sheriffs. but then!!! OUCH OUCH OUCH. Just as the story is about to wrap up, the author throws in a ridiculous wrench...referring to a character I doubt anyone will remember....and then adding insult to injury, never finishes the story. He makes us wait until his next book. SORRY, ,Craig.! You used to write very compelling books that ended at the ending. Now you're pumping your franchise and hoping we will wait until the next book. BAH Adding insult to injury, Vic and Henry disappear. Walt keeps hugging his grandchild and feeling stupid. This book is a terrible read. I think the television franchise is getting to you in a very bad way.

This latest Longmire was a real disappointment on many levels.The worst aspect is the cliff hanger ending which leaves me really cold. I hate it when authors or TV shows engage in this tawdry practice to get you to follow along at your expense instead of giving you a satisfying stand alone product. I won't buy another of this series without reading a lot of reviews first to make sure he hasn't done it again.Leaving little loose strands for recurring characters is fine, but having a major character kidnapped toward the end and leaving that unresolved until next time is really unsat.Aside from Walt, the two best characters in the series are Henry and Vic who play insignificant roles in this one.The romance between Walt and Vic, another wonderful feature, was deemphasized in the last book and all but disappeared in this one.Sometimes writers just lose the spark of what made their series a hit and just start pumping out sub standard work to keep the bucks rolling in.Stuart Woods comes to mind here. His first several books were truly terrific. Then he fell into the Stone Barrington character and descended into almost soft core porn.The great ones, Michael Connelly, John Sandford, Robert Crais, just manage to keep them coming with no lapse in quality, nurturing the spark.I'm starting to worry that Nelson DeMille may have started to go the way of Woods.And this Longmire book has me thinking Craig Johnson might be going that way as well.Would be a pity.

I've loved the Longmire series, but this one was a huge disappointment. I'm giving 3 stars rather than 2 out of respect for the previous books I've enjoyed so much.Other than Walt Longmire himself, Henry Standing Bear and Deputy Vic are easily Johnson's most interesting and entertaining characters. But in this book, Henry is only peripheral to the story and Vic was so much on the sidelines that she could have been left out completely and it wouldn't have changed the story. The romance that had been developing between Walt and Vic has disappeared over the past couple of books, which is almost as disappointing as not getting to enjoy the ferocious Deputy Vic watching Walt's back in times of trouble. I'm really missing her having a major role in the stories.What we get instead is Lucien Connely, Johnson's most contrived and uninteresting character, taking the spotlight, as he did in the ridiculous Sprit of Steamboat and a couple of other recent stories.Finally, it appears Johnson is preparing to jump the shark with the cliffhanger ending. Please, Mr. Johnson, get Walt, Vic, and Henry back to Absaroka County and get them back into the kinds of trouble that made this series great!

No more Longmire for me. I suspect he was under some time crunch to get this book out. The plot was hazy to me and I absolutely hate cliffhangers. I'll find another author.

I've read and loved all of the Walt Longmire novels. This one was SO disappointing, both in the story lines and in the lack of development of the characters. The cliffhanger was unnecessary and really made me angry. And the depiction of Martha! Superficial and in no way shows why she was the love of Walt's life.

The back-in-the-day plot was more engaging than the flash-forward-to-present-day one, until it became obvious and preposterous. Cliffhanger in the present day? Ick. I have read all of the Longmire books and look forward to each one as it comes out. Some of them are masterful (Spirit of Steamboat!) This one feels like an outline for the first half of something that could be promising, but needs some rethinking. And has Johnson just given up on writing the character of Vic? She's around, but flat and pointless, in this book. I guess she was kind of narratively present in the book set in Sturgis, but she has otherwise been on vacation in one sense or another for quite a while. Johnson seems to be backing off from the Walt/Vic romance/partnership, without knowing what to say about that backing off.

What a disappointment. Johnson has chosen to end this book with a cliffhanger, and I absolutely hate cliffhangers. I've read every one of his books -- the strength of his writing & characters previously drew me to his next. But this seems to be a cheap gimmick to inflate sales of his next book. Well, I, for one, am not buying it.

Why did Johnson resort to the cliffhanger ending? Loose ends are ok and I enjoy recurring characters and plot threads with each book having its own closure but a cliffhanger? Disappointing.

Very good book, goes into a lot of low level detail. I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that is is a bit out of date. It discussed MongoDB version 2.4.0 but the latest version is 3.2 and there have been a lot of improvements in MongoDB since 2.4.0.

I've checked for updates to the ebook on Oreilly but it doesn't look like they have incorporated changes. That being said, I haven't found another book for beginners so this might be it.

MongoDB is totally different now in 2019. This book is six years old. Nothing in this book works anymore. Especially with regard to sharding...

Well written, doesn't dwell on anything and moves at a nice pace. You could get a lot out of this book if you just need to know some MongoDB and not how to shard and distribute (even though it has all that). Great book to pick up. I learned most of what I needed to know in just a couple nights of reading. Lots more material if I needed to start deploying to production, and feel like I could do that with this book alone.

Good book. Explains everything in clear detail but based on old releases. New mongoDB releases have things which invalidates several limitations mentioned in this book.

After reading this book, I've totally fallen in love with MongoDB! Ms. Chodorow has provided a very easy to understand, highly comprehensive work on MongoDB; with example code for each MongoDB concept. It is definitely a classic and a "Must-have" for any decent NoSQL Document programmer.

I did not find this book helpful for my specific class/needs. There may be better documentation out there, as there is little on the IOT.

Good book if you are running pre-mongo 2.6, some of the commands in the book have been deprecated (e.g. addUser). It does however have some good general mongo information
