Review

"This third outing finds Tromly at the top of her game, seamlessly weaving in high-school scandal, government espionage, a hilarious mix of high- and low-culture references, and social-media sabotage in a turbocharged plot…If this is the last tango with Digby, at least we get to go out on a high note."—Booklist Online"A fast read, with continuous action and nonstop witty banter."—VOYAPraise for Trouble Is a Friend of Mine: • Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year"In what reads like a combination of Veronica Mars and The Breakfast Club, debut author Tromly creates a screwball mystery with powerful crossover appeal."—Publishers Weekly, starred review"This is one of those rare books that promises something unique and actually delivers beyond expectation. So, this was completely ridiculous and fun. I got the first book for Christmas, read it at top speed, immediately got the second, blew through it, and then had to WAIT for the third book to get my next hit of ridiculousness. This book opens only moments after the second ends and pauses not at all, flinging Zoe and Digby into the ongoing heartbreak of finding his missing sister, with a sprinkling of high school toxic gossip, plus the carryover of the football team’s steroid troubles, and much more, including of course, the swoon-worthy smoochies that ended the last book. I thoroughly enjoyed Trouble Never Sleeps, snorting with laughter as I read late into the night.I appreciated how this book managed to wrap things up without undue angst while relationships progressed with a hilarious realism. (Though not everything was completely wrapped up. Upon finishing I immediately checked to see if there might be another book on the way. I’d read the heck out of that.) Digby and Zoe didn’t fall into each other’s arms with perfect understanding. Their confessions to each other that ended the last book (spoilers!) get dialed back slightly as Zoe tries imagining what real life with Digby looks like. And what does Zoe even want? Good questions to ask at any stage and especially as you finally let yourself admit you want anything with a wacko like Digby, who to his credit, is a good guy and really into Zoe, but honest enough not to pretend to be normal. I appreciated how this book managed to wrap up on the main mystery of what happened to Digby’s sister without crushing my soul, while at the same time leaving everyone in a new place, ready for even more shenanigans.

This is the third book in the entertaining Trouble series, featuring the eccentric, talented, Sherlock Holmesesque Phillip Digby, a high school student on a mission, and the narrator, Zoe, who is a sort of unwilling sidekick plus ultra.I enjoyed the book, though maybe slightly less than the other two. I love Zoe's narrative voice, the dialogue is often witty and the characters are interesting, but the adventure itself was a bit flat and the villain disappointing.

I love Digby and it was great to see him back. I only wish that there were more adventures forthcoming.

This was a great wrap up to the trilogy. I love the characters, and they're still up to no good here. :)

This book series is just the best. Shipping was really fast too.

3.5 starsThis series has been weird for me. I didn’t care for the first one, but I liked the other two. I think I would enjoy them a lot more if I ever binged them because I went into this one with absolutely no idea wtf was going on.The relationship between Zoe and Digby is what kept me reading. I’m amused at their push and pull and odd dynamic that seems to really work for them. I still loved Sloane and their other friends, but the strangeness of it all is what I enjoyed.Plot wise, it was fast paced from the beginning and didn’t stop. The ending was intriguing and satisfying and maddening all at the same time. It doesn’t feel like it’s over and if there’s another book, I’ll be reading.**Huge thanks to Kathy Dawson Books for providing the arc free of charge**

The trouble never ends as Zoe is once again pulled into Digby's shenanigans. The banters between them were still the highlights in the novel. This was a fun book to read especially with all the references to the media from Taylor Swift to Riverdale, etc. Furthermore, Trouble Never Sleeps is something I would recommend if you need a good laugh. I guess my biggest gripe (hence I had to deduct a star) was the fact that Digby seemed OOC sometimes and how the conflict in this series was conveniently solved. The adults were ridiculous and the struggles were almost nonexistent. All in all, while I did enjoy reading the novel, it doesn't feel like it's over.*Huge thanks to the publisher for sending me an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.*

A wonderful wrap-up to a fun, smart series. I've been a fan of Digby and Princeton from the start. These kids are whip-smart, world-weary, and more observant than anyone I've ever met. Think Veronica Mars meets the Gallagher Girls. If you like a good mystery, with intelligent banter, and a side of teenage angst, this is a book for you.
